Sarracenia leucophylla Tarnok

$39.95

S. leucophylla features a ruffled hood beautifully patterned with red veins against a bright white background, giving way to red and green further down the trap. The cultivar 'Tarnok' is unique among Sarracenia, bearing stunning double-petaled flowers with whorls of overlapping sepals—like little red pinecones! Native to the narrow coastal regions of Alabama, 'Tarnok' is especially cold-hardy at our nursery in Oregon and withstands winter freezes easily. It is a fast and vigorous grower, forming dense clusters of growth points that create a breathtaking display. Unlike other forms of S. leucophylla that produce pitchers only in late summer, Tarnok produces pitchers from mid-spring to early fall. This plant was registered with the International Carnivorous Plant Society in 1993.

Sarracenia ‘Tarnok’

Posted by Don Allen on August 18, 2024

The USPS really dropped the ball on this shipment. It took them a ‘week’ do deliver a shipment that normally takes 2 days. If not for the quality of the plant and quality of the packing from Sarracenia Northwest I think the plant’s survival would have been questionable. The plant recovered nicely and is growing great! ?

It arrived very quickly after shipping and started growing very well. Now, a month later I have two almost mature pitchers and a few more sprouting up. Can’t wait to see it in the summer!
