Sarracenia leucophylla x minor

This natural hybrid is one that can be seen in Northern Florida. Its pitchers are purple and green, with darker purple hues dominating the upper quarter. The dark pigment mixes with white splotching throughout the cowled, ruffled lid and the front sides of the tube. But, it is the light windows which steal the show. A mass of outstanding white fenestration covers the inflated tube all the way down the top third of the pitcher like stained glass. Its triangular lip, which sometimes drips obscenely with nectar, is almost black.

Sunlight: Full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.
