We named this Sarracenia hybrid Fancy Fish merely for the fact that it lived in our fish pond. It has a flared hood adorned with dark veins and white freckles. In spring, it produces salmon flowers. It's a vigorous grower that forms a large clump quickly.

ABOUT MATURE DIVISIONS
After we divide our mother plants, we allow the rhizomes to mature for at least one full growing season, sometimes two, before including them in our inventory. You get a much more vigorous and robust plant than one that has been recently divided.

Peak Season: Mid-season, with its best pitchers typically appearing from June through August.

Water: Keep the soil wet with rainwater, distilled water, or other low-mineral water of 50 ppm or less.
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9; mulch in colder regions.

SEASONAL APPEARANCE
January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Fully developed pitchers will gradually appear.
June-August: Plant produces its best pitchers of the season.
September: Plant may show signs of slowing down.
October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.
