Tall, dark, and terribly handsome. This plant was named after Dracula, but spelled backward. This plant is prized in many collections because of its deeply intense color and height. In areas where the growing season is warm and long, pitchers can regularly reach over 36 inches. In our mild Oregon climate, we're happy with 24 inches!
Alucard was bred by Phil Fulisi. The name Alucard is applied to all plants produced by crossing Sarracenia 'Royal Ruby' with S. flava rubricorpora, as long as the pitchers are darkly colored. This plant will need lots of direct sun to maintain its rich colors. Lots of sunlight. This plant also grows slowly, and each growth point produces only 1 or 2 pitchers. But if you're a patient gardener, you'll be greatly rewarded in the years to come.

ABOUT MATURE DIVISIONS
After we divide our mother plants, we allow the rhizomes to mature for at least one full growing season, sometimes two, before including them in our inventory. You get a much more vigorous and robust plant than one that has been recently divided.
