This species is known for its short, tubby red pitchers with wide, scalloped red lips or peristomes. Plants can remain compact for many seasons before reaching maturity with pitchers approaching 6 inches. It loves bright, filtered light, so grow it in a sunny windowsill.

Pitcher Size: Up to 6 inches.
Sunlight: Partial sun.
Water: Rainwater, distilled water, or other low-mineral water measuring 50 ppm or less. Allow the water to drain through.
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: 70°-85°F during the day; 55°-70°F during the night. Always protect from frost.
