Nepenthes sanguinea is an excellent plant for the first-time grower. It can remain compact for many years, which makes it a great candidate for any sunny windowsill. Large, established plants can be quite impressive, with pitchers growing to 9 inches tall! With good lighting, its firm, waxy leaves will develop an attractive reddish-bronze hue.

    Well-pleased with this purchase

Posted by Anthony Butler on September 3, 2021

This nepenthe, out of all that I have hitherto purchased, came delivered the most healthy. No leaves were rotten, the substrate was very moist, the plant was healthy and in very good condition and it came far earlier than I expected! I am well-pleased! I have planted it in a lava rock of sorts and I hope it stays awhile. Here's to hoping that I don't kill it.

    Very healthy plant

The nepenthes arrived beautifully packaged, and showed no real signs of decline, even after 7 long days with the USPS. This is my first nepenthes, so I wasn’t quite sure how it’d do, but since it’s arrived it has put out a new pitcher with a freshly popped lid (woot!!) and is working on another. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. Will definitely order from SNW again.

    High Quality

Posted by Robin Carpenter on September 14, 2020

I was a bit hesitant to buy my first nepenthes since I live in a dry climate, sometimes the humidity can drop below 30% indoors even with my humidifier going. However the SNW youtube videos convinced me to give it a go, and I'm so glad. My plant has adjusted perfectly, it's put out two new pitchers with 2 more on the way, and loves its spot in a particularly bright eastern window. On top of that SNW went out of its way to allay my fears about potential shipping problems, a lot of sellers would not have done so. You get high quality plants and high quality service from Sarracenia Northwest. I'll be recommending them to any fellow carnivorous plant lovers I run into!

My plant came in healthy and with decent pitchers. They have been with me about a month and the pitchers are still in good shape, with strong light the leaves are turning a nice dark brownish red.

    Carnivorous Plant

I ordered 2 plants. I was really impressed at how fast they arrived. They were packed so well I think the could have survived a fall off a 10 story building. They were in the best shape. Both are growing nicely and putting out new little pitchers. I will be using Sarracenia Northwest for any other plants I need. I HIGHLY recommend them!!
