It's considered a mountainous plant, so it likes a very sunny window with mild temperatures. The broad leaf form has wider leaves than the more common narrow leaf form. It also grows slower than other forms of Cape sundews and is more temperamental to hot conditions. However, it matures into a larger plant overall.

Type of Plant: Tropical plant for windowsill growing.
Size: 6 inches across when mature.
Sunlight: Partial sun. Avoid hot sunlight.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Tolerant of cool temperatures but always protect from frost.

    Beautiful plant

Can't say enough about the care given to make sure it arrived safely and healthy. This is a beautiful little plant that has grown vigorously, its already formed three fully developed heads in a short time. Also it looks amazing when it catches the sun just right, the red and green together seem to glow.

    First Carnivorous plant order

Posted by Mark. on January 14, 2018

Absolutely blown away by the quality of the plants, and almost more impressed with Sarracenia Northwests packaging. Plants arrived in perfect condition. And are now thriving. I will be ordering more in the near future.

    Awesome Healthy Plants!!

Posted by Jared B on December 31, 2017

I ordered after a lot of procrastinating and after watching tons of Sarracenia Northwest care videos on Youtube. These guys really care about what they do and they do it right. Packaging was top notch and even came with heat packs to keep them from freezing on the way to me here in Michigan. I would encourage buyers to take a look at the shipping schedule before you order so you know when your order will ship out. I ordered around the Holidays and so there seemed like a delay but it was really me not paying attention so no fault of theirs. It may be good to add that somewhere in the order process though so expectations are set up front. Overall I am very pleased and will order again.

    My grandchildren love it.

I ordered my Cape Sundew less than two months ago. It arrived in perfect condition and is thriving on our kitchen window sill. Because it is still winter here and there are no insects yet available for it to catch, my grandchildren have been feeding it rehydrated blood worms, and it has already produced new sprouts.

    Vigorous grower

This plant arrived in beautiful shape. The only setback that I've noticed is the dew dried up from the change of environment, but it's coming back slowly. New leaves have been forming at a steady pace. I am pleased to have this plant in my collection. Get one.
