Drosera capensis, Broad Leaf

(99 reviews)

Named for its natural habitat, the cape region of South Africa, Cape sundews grow vigorously and produces large leaves at maturity. It's considered a mountainous plant, so it likes a very sunny window with mild temperatures. The broad leaf form has wider leaves than the more common narrow leaf form. It also grows slower than other forms of Cape sundews and is more temperamental to hot conditions. However, it matures into a larger plant overall.

Type of Plant: Tropical plant for windowsill growing.
Size: 6 inches across when mature.
Sunlight: Partial sun. Avoid hot sunlight.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Tolerant of cool temperatures but always protect from frost.

• Juvenile plant, acclimated for windowsill growing.
• Shipped in a 3-inch pot. Care info is included.

    Christmas gift of Dewdrops

Posted by Shareef Noor on January 3, 2022

They arrived well packaged, and in decent health. I have managed to keep them alive for a whole month and long enough to gift them to my family members. Now it's just up to them on whether or not they stay alive. Great gift if a little tricky to keep alive, highly recommend!

I have had my plants for several months now and they are amazing. They arrived lovingly packaged. They sit in RO water on the south side of the house window sill did great...moved them to an indoor sun room for plants...its winter in Erie PA...last place you would want to have to depend on solar panels, full spectrum LED lighting. doing great was surprised with purple flowers.

The plants arrived in excellent health. I say plants because I ordered 1 but that one pot had 4 plants in it. They started getting their dew back the very next day. I would definitely recommend ordering from these guys.

Arrived well packed and in great health, and it has been ridding my apartment of fruit flies like a little champion! I realized that there are actually 2 plants, 1 was just teeny tiny when it got here, but it has 3 leaves now as well.
