This mix contains equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite.

All ingredients are guaranteed to be free of fertilizers and other contaminants that may harm carnivorous plants. Soil mix is shipped dried. Moisten thoroughly before using.  Use this mix for the following plants for the following tropical pitcher plants:

  • Brocchinia: Bromeliad
  • Cephalotus: Australian Pitcher
  • Heliamphora: Sun Pitcher
  • Nepenthes: SE Asian Pitcher

A gallon of soil will fill:

  • one 8-inch pot or
  • two 6-inch pots or
  • six 4-inch pots

    Absolutely perfect. I killed the first pitcher plant I received by planting it in short fiber spaghnum peat. However after I received this new soil medium, my new pitcher plant is now thriving and has developed 4 new pitchers. Will definitely buy more when I have space for more plants.
