Dessert has been served! The late-season pitchers of Ruby Throat will remind you of a scrumptious strawberry sundae. The upper portions of the pitcher are a perfect balance of bright red veins over a pure white complexion. The throat of the lid is dark red, and the color extends into the rim of the pitcher and into the underside of the hood. The exterior of the lid is white with very fine red veins. However, this plant is a late-season variety, meaning its show-stopping pitchers are only on display when the heat of summer mellows. What a delicious way to end the growing season!

    Three Purchases

Posted by Mark Bauer on May 9, 2020

Without knowing exact dates, I purchased three plants within the past few weeks: Extreme Green, Ruby Throat and "Dark." Extreme came with a small flower scape which grew rapidly and within 4 weeks I had 3 developing pitchers (very satisfying). Ruby and Dark came in a smaller package. Their diminutive size at first was disappointing (I get so excited with the big plants), but, because I know SNW produces and sends great plants, quality, I had no concerns (they are both doing well and developing). I am very happy with these three, which will add color and diversity to the mix of plants that I have. Very satisfied. Thanks to Jeff and Jacob.

    Changing of The Colors

Posted by Ramon L. Nelson on March 6, 2016

This plant is very interesting in how it will change colors as the seasons continues. The pitchers start with green color... then change to yellow... and the they turn red. Like having several plants all in one and for the price of only one plant.
