Sarracenia rubra gulfensis

$19.95

This species produces substantial traps, decorated with rich reds and maroons, reaching up to a foot tall. The jaunty, pointed lids are copper-colored, undulating, and lifted well above the mouth. A thin lip dips into a pronounced, spouted V-shape. Leaves endure into winter, often turning nearly black by December. Gulfensis enjoy the warm, humid weather of midsummer with a long growing season. Look for red flowers with a charming, rosy scent from mid to late spring.

My S. rubra gulfensis arrived in great shape with vibrant colors. I notice HUGE wasps hanging out by it...must be irresistible to them! Cannot wait to watch it grow a bit bigger.
