This sarracenia is a unique hybrid
The plant is simply beautiful. Short and colorful pitchers with a interesting pitcher hood. Highly recommended
Northern Cortii is Sarracenia purpurea purpurea x psittacina; Hummer’s Okee Classic is a registered cultivar of S. alabamensis x minor, Okee Giant. The cross of these two plants produced seedlings that are predominantly low-lying and curved, very much like Northern Cortii, but the pitchers are elongated with a triangular hood, very much like Hummer’s Okee Classic. Some plants have hints of yellow in their hood, an influence by S. alabamensis. With its complex parentage, this is one plant that will show different features when it matures.
Appearance will differ from plant to plant. Selection is done randomly. Last two photos show the parent plants.
