The sheer elegance of this plant will take your breath away. The upper part of the pitcher is white, laced with purple-red veins. Yes, this carnivorous plant is beautiful, and it knows it. It will tease you with only one or two pitchers during the hottest days of summer. In late season when the summer heat mellows, S. leucophylla will mesmerize you with a set of extra-robust pitchers, saving the best right before winter dormancy. With most white trumpets, you can enjoy their beautiful leaves well after the first frost, depending on your climate. What a sight to see a white top pitcher peeking out at you through the snow! In mid to late spring, look for large red flowers.

This batch contains random mixed forms of S. leucophylla. Plants may vary in appearance.

2nd Season Divisions
After dividing our mother plants in spring, we grow the divisions for a year before releasing them. You get a more vigorous plant with a healthier root system when compared to a recent division.

All outdoor perennials experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Early season pitchers are often thin and wispy.
June-August: Non-carnivorous leaves may appear alongside thin pitchers.
September: Stunning vibrant pitchers finally appear.
October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.

Beautiful S. leucophylla. In great health when it arrived. Has shot up several pitchers, all in typical leuc fashion and color.

Incredible packing job and great plants. Ordered multiple since on clearance, only 1 is still dormant (but I have faith)... one is putting out a flower!

    Growing beautifully

Posted by Nam on May 20, 2015

At first all I had was a little rhizome so I was a bit shocked but a month later and I have two pitchers already!! I'm excited for it to make bigger ones, I haven't seen flowers yet but that's not a problem.
