This fantastic cross combines the best of both worlds: the light-windows and translucence of Sarracenia leucophylla, with the stout form and vigor of S. oreophila. A truly rewarding beauty, it produces many full-sized pitchers with generously wide mouths. The upper portions of the trap are dotted with light windows, so that in the sun they catch light and glow like fat green lanterns! During the hottest parts of summer, the plant will take a short siesta. In late summer when the weather cools, look for a fresh set of larger pitchers for the fall season. Produces many stunning red flowers in spring. Pitchers on a mature plant reach 16 inches.

2nd Season Divisions
After dividing our mother plants in spring, we grow the divisions for a year before releasing them. You get a more vigorous plant with a healthier root system when compared to a recent division.

All outdoor perennials experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Fully developed pitchers will start to appear.
June: Full display of pitchers. This plant will look its best!
July-August: Plant will slow down when it’s hot. Some minor spotting.
September-October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.

    Fast grower

This arrived as a very decent sized rhizome and had two small leaves about a quarter inch. Within two days the leaves were about a half inch tall. After a week I had a 2 inch flower stalk beginning to spring up. I have now had it for about a month and the flower stalk is about 16 inches tall, with about 6 pitchers, each about a foot tall. The flower looks like it will bloom any day now, and the pitchers are about to open up to begin feeding. Shipping was very good. They are very easy to grow and I've enjoyed watching them come out of dormancy! Definitely looking forward to seeing them in their mature state.

    My first purchase

Posted by chris cook on July 26, 2014

Hi guy's I can honestly say i was VERY happy with my first purchase. I ordered a Sarracenia leucophylla x oreophila [Med] which had 16" pitcher's and was super healthy and had beautiful color's. Shipping was fast and the plant was in perfect condition when it arrived. I also enjoy your podcast's very much as they are really informative. Although this was my first purchase from you i can say you guy's stand well above the other website's i have ordered from not only in your price's but the health and size of your plants. The Leucophylla is my showcase plant in my outdoor collection which is growing great and mighty hungry. Thanks for the great looking plant and all the info you provide to us novices. I will be purchasing more plants and would recommend you to anyone looking for a great plant. Thanks again!

    my first carnivore plant!

Arrived much sooner than I expected from across the other side of the country. The plant was packed to survive any conditions and was in excellent shape. It even survived the two days inside as I finished setting up the spot I was setting up for it out side. - I wanted it up high enough to not tempt the "native" wildlife , cats and dogs of the neighborhood. Is doing well even though my husband keeps peeking in the pitchers to see what it has caught. It already is putting out new pitchers!
