Bred in England in 1985, this plant quickly became a coveted classic. It has been widely regarded as one of the finest Sarracenia ever created for its uniform shape, moderate height, colorful pitchers, and steady growth throughout the growing season. The traps are stunning. Young leaves are green streaked with red and heavily speckled with white around the top. The pitchers quickly convert to the deepest berry-red, leaving the top of the ruffled lid dotted with pink and white while the rest of the trap assumes darker complexions. Leaves are of medium height and growth is compact and uniform. Older plants are somewhat more robust, but are otherwise identical to younger ones. Its ease of growth and reliable nature makes Judith Hindle a prize in any collection.

2nd Season Divisions
After dividing our mother plants in spring, we grow the divisions for a year before releasing them. You get a more vigorous plant with a healthier root system when compared to a recent division.

All outdoor perennials experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Fully developed pitchers will gradually appear.
June-August: Full display of pitchers.
September: Plant produces its best pitchers of the season.
October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.

    Beautiful color

Along with the other pitcher plants I am growing, these guys are all stuffed with unwitting but (must be) delicious insect life. The pitchers are full but the bugs keep dropping in for a taste of whatever elixir the pitchers are using to attract them. Very effective bug control.

I didn't know what to expect out of the box, this is my first sarracenia and my first order from here, upon unboxing this plant I was blown away by how amazing it was. So healthy and colorful! Every person I'v shown it too said the same thing, "it's beautiful". I agree. I made the right choice, with the plant and the vendor. Thank you, I'll be back.

A beautiful plant! Did not look like much at first since it probably had just come out of dormancy, but there was vigorous growth within three days. Very healthy plant.

    Wonderful!

This is the store I chose to buy from because they had very good reviews. I am glad to be adding to the list of satisfied customer reviews because they really had very nice plants and exceptional customer service. My package of Sarracenia x Judith Hindle & VFT x King Henry arrived a day earlier than I expected , and even after 2 days of transit, my plants looked very healthy and the soil and root system didn't seem disturbed at all. They really took time to wrap the plants carefully, and even with the height of the Sarracenia they sent me, they managed to ensure that none of the taller pitchers will be bent or damaged upon arrival. The media was intact and moist, so I did not have to deal with plant shock during transit. Now, both plants are thriving in my balcony. Thank you very much, Sarracenia Northwest for the wonderful plants !

I bought this along with the flava and another sarracenia at the open house this year. They are absolutely stunning. Everyone who sees them stop to admire them. Now that the weather is turning they are getting the most beautiful crismson colors.
