We named this plant after our first nursery dog, Hank, who was a loving gentle giant. Like its namesake, this plant is an unconfirmed hybrid, though we highly suspect that it's a cross of Sarracenia flava atropurpurea and Sarracenia leucophylla. The plant is red, big, and a hefty eater. It loves to bask in the sun, sit in water, and enjoy attention from customers. Its best growth occurs in spring and early to mid summer.

This is a very nice Sarracenia! It has produced at least a half dozen pitchers since I planted it. Nice subtle coloring on the cap/ hood, not gaudy but still colorful.
