Sarracenia flava maxima

$29.95

Despite its varietal name, maxima, this plant isn't always larger than other S. flava varieties. The distinguishing feature is its pure, glowing yellow-green color, with no red veining. However, it is not a purely green or anthocyanin-free form. Red pigment appears in young developing pitchers, which fade as the pitcher matures. It is a very vigorous and striking plant that highlights the classic Sarracenia shape. It is rewarding to grow, with eye-catching, sturdy traps. Its best pitchers are seen in spring and early summer.
