Pumice rock makes a great planter for carnivorous plants. Because of its porous nature, you can set the rock in water and the rock will absorb water to keep the soil moist. All rocks are already carved out to form a planter. This rock garden comes with a Sarracenia purpurea venosa, a short plant with tubby red pitchers. Just set the rock in a saucer or dish with 1-2 inches of water and grow the plant outdoors in full sun. This would be great on a sunny patio or deck. Winter care is exactly the same as a potted Venus flytrap. (Sarracenia purpurea can live indefinitely in this planter.)
