Alfred Lau was a botanist who studied and discovered many Mexican butterworts in the wild. This particular plant was one he found in the wild and remains unidentified. It might be a form of Pinguicula gigantea or a natural hybrid with it. It has large, broad, slightly wavy leaves at full size and grows very quickly. It appears to thrive without a dry winter rest if the soil is moist and the lighting is bright year-round. When fully mature, the plant can reach 8 inches across.
