Rooted Cuttings
Plants grown via rooted cutting often produce larger plants quicker than plants grown from seed or tissue culture. They are also genetically identical to its mother plant.
Nepenthes Wrigleyana is one of the Victorian hybrids that has been replicated by many growers over the years. The parentage is Nepenthes mirabilis x (rafflesiana x ampullaria). The pitchers are very colorful - reddish hues with dark red mottling. The wings on front of the pitcher are from N. rafflesiana. The thick peristome is from N. amullaria. Despite its lowland parents, this plant grows amazingly well in our highland greenhouse. It vines readily throughout the year, though it produces pitchers only during the summer when it's warm and bright. Otherwise, it makes a fantastic houseplant in a windowsill with very bright filtered light or dappled sun.
