Nepenthes truncata occurs in all elevations in the Mindinao region of the Philippines. This particular variety is found predominantly in the lower elevations and has very large leaves and large, leathery green pitchers. When you peer into one of the pitchers, you'll see red splotches on the inside upper portion. When growing this plant, you'll need a heavy dose of patience. This plant grows very, very slowly! The patient grower will be rewarded with a monster of a plant. An adult plant will easily produce pitchers that are 12 -15 inches long. The plant itself will span about 3 feet with very large green leaves. Make sure you have a very large window to handle such a beast in the years to come!
