Nepenthes truncata

(10 reviews)

Nepenthes truncata occurs in all elevations in the Mindinao region of the Philippines. This particular variety is found predominantly in the lower elevations and has very large leaves and large, leathery green pitchers. When you peer into one of the pitchers, you'll see red splotches on the inside upper portion. When growing this plant, you'll need a heavy dose of patience. This plant grows very, very slowly! The patient grower will be rewarded with a monster of a plant. An adult plant will easily produce pitchers that are 12 -15 inches long. The plant itself will span about 3 feet with very large green leaves. Make sure you have a very large window to handle such a beast in the years to come!

I am enticed by this one; the leaf projections are extraordinary, nevertheless the pitchers themselves, as one has already produced despite the shock of travel

This plant is doing great in my sunny window. It makes a great houseplant and is already producing HUGE pitchers relative to the size of the plant.

    Great N. Truncata

The nepenthes truncate I received from Sarracenia Northwest was in amazing shape. It also already had a few pitchers. I'm kinda sketched out by mailorder plants, I've always just had plants thrown in a box with 0 care. This was different. It took me like twenty min to open them! Packed with care and in greAt shape. It only took a few days as well. I signed up for a giveaway too, I'm pretty happy with you guys. Thanks a lot. -Alex k

I had a large truncata that I lost due to fungal infection and was hoping to get a new one. This came in beautiful condition and is doing well in my greenhouse with it's Nepenthes neighbors,
