This complex hybrid was bred by our friend, Sam Estes, of Leilani Nepenthes Nursery. This plant really caught our attention because of its elegant, colorful pitchers, approximately 6-8 inches. Each pitcher has a long neck and a bulbous base. The upper pitchers are also equally elegant, like a Grecian urn. The plant also grows vigorously and produces lots of pitchers during the growing season. It is also the first to produce pitchers in spring and the last to drop its pitchers in winter. It grows very well as a houseplant and is suitable for first-time growers.

Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for indoor growing.
Pitcher Size: Up to 8 inches.
Sunlight: Bright filtered to partial sun.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Above 70°F during the day; 55°-70°F during the night. Always protect from frost.

    A mystery

I really do not know what to expect from this plant. It already has a new leaf, but it has nothing that resembles a pitcher. It enjoys the prime location in a large window in our master bathroom and is surrounded by other carnivorous buddies and orchids. I am hoping that it will thrive.
