Rooted Cuttings
Plants grown via rooted cutting often produce larger plants quicker than plants grown from seed or tissue culture. They are also genetically identical to its mother plant.

This plant was part of a open-pollinated breeding at Leilani Nepenthes Nursery. The actual parentage is unknown, though it is suspected to be Nepenthes boschiana x (spectabilis x veitchii) based on records of what was in bloom at the nursery at the time. When we received the first batch from LNN, the hybrid had a wide range of colors and patterns. We kept two particular plants for our collection, a red form (Clone A) and an orange form ( Clone B).

Clone A has sturdy pitchers adorned with red flecks against a light orange background. The peristome (or lip) has light reddish orange stripes against a dark red background. The leaves are leathery. Pitchers on an adult plant approach 12 inches.

Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for indoor growing.
