This species is known for its white band beneath the peristome. The plant produces a long vine with slender leaves from which elongated slender pitchers appear. While pitchers are commonly green, this variant features dark mottling alongside the pitchers. This species also grows more slowly than other Nepenthes, but once it acclimates to its environment, this plant grows well as a regular houseplant on a very sunny windowsill.
Kuching Spotted is a different variant from the black variant by Leilani Nepenthes Nursery; its pitchers are slightly lighter in color, and its leaves remain green, even when grown in full sun.
