Plants You Receive

• Established rooted cutting from select mother plants.
• Acclimated for windowsill growing.
• Shipped in a 3.5-inch pot and meticulously packaged.

First photo is representative of the mother plant from which divisions were taken. Subsequent photos are representative of the batch of plants for sale.

For all divisions, we wait until there is at least one new open pitcher on a plant before offering it for sale. This takes a minimum of 6 -9 months, longer in some instances. To prep plants for sale, we cut off all pitchers that have significantly discolored during the acclimation process, so a plant might have fewer pitchers than normal. Some order leaves left on a plant may still be mildly discolored. This is a normal process as they age. Plants will develop a full set of pitchers within another 6-12 months.

General Care

Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for windowsill growing.

    Love it

Posted by Dominic on November 17, 2021

My plant was beautiful and began regrowing in less than a week. It is very happy in my office where the bright fluorescent lights are always on and it's a steady 70 degrees. And thanks for waiting a week to ship when it was colder.

The heliamphora came in great condition. It’s only been a month and it’s already putting out a new pitcher. Very satisfied with my purchase.

    wrong plant sent

Posted by Christopher Hooper on October 12, 2021

Sent me the wrong plant. Received a Brocchinia reducta and not the Heliamphora heterodoxa I ordered. Am very disappointed as this is not the plant I wanted!!!! *** RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Christopher.  I'm sorry about the mistake.  In the literature included with your package (How to Unpack Your Plants), we state that mistakes do happen and we take full responsibility for them.  You can keep the Brocchinia, and we will send you the correct plant, Heliamphora heterodoxa, on Friday, our next shipping day.  In the future, please allow us to correct the issue before hastily giving a poor review. We received your message only 15 hours prior after we were done for the day. We saw your email this morning and hadn't yet been able to respond to it until now.

    Beautiful Heliamphora!

Our plant arrived in excellent condition (very well packed) and earlier than expected. We've had it for a month now and is growing happily in this Florida summer weather, and about to bloom.

My new plant arrived in perfect condition and is absolutely beautiful! It was also much bigger than advertised, shipped lightning quick, and was packaged very safely. I read an online review of Sarracenia Northwest before I placed my first order and the person said once you buy from here, you will be spoiled for all other plant sellers and they were right. I am beyond happy with my new plant!! Thank you!!
