Drosera dichotoma, Giant Staghorn

$24.95

As a native of southern Australia and New Zealand, this plant is surprisingly cold-hardy. At our nursery, we've seen very large mature plants survive winter temperatures as low as 10°F without any winter protection. During the growing season, Drosera dichotoma produces slender leaves that branch into as many as four points per leaf. (Juvenile leaves only have two points per leaf.) In winter, its leaves die back to the soil. In spring, the plant regrows from its long, thick roots. Provide this plant with plenty of sunlight during the growing season. Plenty of sunlight.

This plant was part of our original inventory in 1995!

Really impressed

When I got the staghorn it had got damaged frome the heat. There was only one good leaf on the plant. I kept giving it water and shading during the middle of the day or when it reach a certain temperature. Now it has two good leafs on it and produces dew. I am really impressed with this plant and I really like this plant the most out of all my plants.

As always, Everything 100% rating from me!

I’ve been purchasing plants from Sarracenia Northwest for a few years now. Outstanding company in all respects. My most recent purchase is the Drosera Dichotoma, Giant Staghorn. I’m always amazed at how well they package all their plants for shipping. This plant was no exception. Arrived healthy and ready for me to enjoy. After about a week it started growing more branches(?) arms(?). Catching bunches of little gnats and… The colors are great. The sticky dew is very abundant. I’m really glad I got this plant. I love it! Oh, forgot to mention that I was afraid that any wind beyond a slight breeze would injure or permanently damage it since it is a smaller in stature plant. Big wind did come one day and I watched it bend pretty extremely. Stood right back up no problem. It looks somewhat dainty but it’s not. It’s a Giant STAGHORN!

I am super happy with my purchase yesterday. I was not expecting such a bigger plant, looks very healthy. I have been a carnivorous plant grower for a few years now and have quite a collection. I'm always looking for unique plants and this is definitely unique. I will most likely be buying all my plants from your company now!!
