Dionaea muscipula Red Dragon Flytrap
This flytrap features red leaves and traps. Young plants are bright red throughout. As the plant matures, it turns maroon with a green margin along the edge of the traps. Despite its attractive red leaves, this particular variety is temperamental. It dislikes root disturbance, and it dislikes excessive heat. (Other varieties of flytraps are much more resilient.) In winter, it will also drop all of its leaves, leaving nothing to show. The Red Dragon Flytrap is best for growers who have experience growing the more typical variety.
Type of Plant: Outdoor perennial for container growing.
Height: Up to 4 inches at maturity.
Sunlight: Full sun during the growing season. (The Red Dragon Flytrap likes full sun but dislikes excessive heat. So it's most suitable to regions with sunny yet moderate summers.)
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

Flytrap
Good morning , The plants are doing very well , growing and one just finished flowering. I have 3 flytraps and when insects come into contact with the traps they stick but it doesn’t close. I imagine the plant still gets the nutrients from the bug regardless, is this correct? Other than that everything is enjoyable. Thank you, Ted

Red Dragon
Plant came tiny and beautiful. Unfortunately inside and outside I am having a hard time keeping this particular species alive, so the litte guy has unfortunately passed already due to owner error:(

Venus fly trap
I'm very happy with my Red dragon Venus fly trap, it came packaged perfectly fine. There was a few stalks and that was it when I got it, now it's waking up and looking good ? I tried to keep it dormant for a bit but it doesn't seem to want to. I'll let it do it's thing and keep an eye on it Beautiful ?

Venus Flytrap Question
I ordered the King Henry and the Red Dragon, they arrived about 4 days later. Nice and healthy. I have a question about watering them, can I keep they in a trey of distilled water at all times or just for a couple hours every other 2 to 3 days?

Dionaea muscipula "Red Dragon" flytrap
This is probably one of y favorite flytraps I have owned. It's been doing so well the past several weeks and is catching something every other day. This flytrap adds such a nice pop of color in my bog garden and I am so happy to have it!
