DESCRIPTION

Big Mouth is one of the giant flytrap cultivars. The typical adult Venus flytrap has traps that grow up to an inch across. A giant form may produce traps that are at least 50% larger than a typical form of the same age. In some cases, traps can grow up to 2 inches long. With Big Mouth, its traps lie close to the soil surface.

GENERAL CARE
Type of Plant: Outdoor perennial for container growing.
Sunlight: Full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

SEASONAL APPEARANCE
January-March: Plant is dormant with few traps.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Still waking up. Fully developed traps will gradually appear.
June-August: Full display of traps.
September: Plant is slowing down. Upright traps start to drop.
October: Dormancy begins. Fewer traps. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned traps are cut off.

    Arrived very healthy with 4-5 large traps, I have had it for about a month now and it is thriving, several new traps have emerged and its coloration is excellent.

    Wow! Plant came well packaged with no damage in less than a week. Showed no stress from shipping. Very healthy with excellent color. Started with about 6 small traps. In about a month, the number of traps tripled and doubled in size! Growing like a weed and and there are 7 traps with bugs in them. I've never been disappointed with an order from SNW!
