Q/A #137 - Wind Blowing over Sarracenia

QUESTION:
Do you have issues with your sarracenia’s blowing over from wind? Anything I can do to keep the plant upright?
(Submitted in July 2022.)

RESPONSE BY JEFF DALLAS:

Sometimes, but usually the pot tips over. We haven't had the type of issue in which pitchers bend over like in your photo. There are a couple of things you can do. First, stake them up for the taller ones helps, and I see you started doing that. But use more than just one and secure the pitchers further up rather down low.

The second thing is to make sure the plants are getting lots of direct sunlight. That will help strengthen the pitchers. Otherwise, being a little sun deficient can make the pitchers weak.
