We have high hopes for this hybrid. The two parent plants tend to be slightly fussy, but the progeny of this breeding tend to be more forgiving of mistakes than their parents. Thank goodness for hybrid vigor!
Several forms of this hybrid exists, but they all have similar appearances. The leaves are relatively large and paddle-shaped. The paddle end of the leaves are covered with dewy tentacles. Some forms of the plant have a copper hue, while other forms are green.
While this hybrid doesn't seem to require higher and more constant humidity like its parent Drosera schizandra, it does prefer more stable conditions and slightly softer lighting than other types of sundews. It also grows best when watering from the top frequently and allowing the water to drain through.
It can also be grown in regular carnivorous plant soil mix, though we prefer to grow it in a mix of 1 part sphagnum moss and 1 part perlite. This makes top watering a lot easier.
This plant is best reserved for the experienced grower.
