Sarracenia: American Pitcher

Sarracenia, or the American pitcher, is a cold-hardy perennial native to the eastern coast of North America, from northern Florida through the New England states. Grow Sarracenia as container plants in a very sunny location. They love sun! In fall, plants will stop growing and go dormant. Many will drop their pitchers at this time. In winter, while dormant, Sarracenia can withstand a freeze of 20°F with minimal protection. Look for new growth in spring.
