Nepenthes Pickled Mango
We got this plant as a Poi Dog (unknown and unnamed hybrid) from Leilani Nepenthes Nursery many, many years ago. All we can tell is that it's some sort of hybrid with Nepenthes spathulata. The plant seems to make only green upper pitchers. It's color, however, transforms as you give the plant more light. In moderate lighting, the pitchers are green. With slightly brighter lighting, pitchers turn neon green. In very bright light, pitchers are chartreuse. Since the plant was unnamed, Jacob called it Pickled Mango, a tasty treat from his childhood years. Does the plant remind him of pickled mangos? No, but the plant was bred in Hawaii where he grew up.
