Nepenthes (maxima x glandulifera) x glandulifera (Seed Grown)
If you're a fan of N. glandulifera, you won't want to miss this hybrid. The female parent is N. maxima x glandulifera, grown by the fine folks at Exotica Plants. This parent plant grows extra large, dark burgundy, sticky pitchers with the characteristic funnel shape and fuzz of glandulifera. By backcrossing it with glandulifera, the goal was to create a much larger and more vigorous glandulifera. The seedlings are growing quickly and so far are very uniform in appearance. They look like pure glandulifera, complete with fuzzy pitchers, tendrils and leaf margins and dotted throughout with black nectar glands especially on the petioles. Glandulifera on steroids!
