Nepenthes Gaya was originally bred by Sam Estes of Leilani Nepenthes in 2004. This is the first of his plants to be mass produced and widely available. A full size plant will sport 6-inch colorful pitchers with red-orange splotches against a yellow background. It grows very well as a houseplant and appreciates lots of bright filtered sunlight or partial sun. The full parentage of this plant is Nepenthes khasiana x ( ventricosa x maxima).

Sunlight: Bright filtered to partial sun.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Above 70°F during the day; 55°-70°F during the night. Always protect from frost.

Love the shape and coloration. Came with two developed pitchers that took a dent out of the late spring gnat invasion in my bathroom. Seems to be adjusting well, although the new leaves are coming in red. Maybe it’s getting too much sun?

Disappointingly, I can only issue a 5 star rating. I would prefer to make it a 10. My 2 Nepenthes came in perfect condition, well packed, and very quickly. Being new to carnivorous plants, especially Nepenthes, I was concerned. I just followed the advice provided, and both Ns are doing spectacularly well.On both plants,I have several pitchers developed already, with more growing in. In about another week or two I plan on moving both to a larger, hanging basket. I am so pleasef with your firm for a number of reasons. Your service is unheard of. I never experienced a grower contacting me to ask how the plants are doing. Much appreciated ! Your shippping is terrific. Your videos are so informative, and enjoyable, I feel as though I am visiting with a friend who is sharing advice with me.
