This Nepenthes is so beautiful and lush. It was bigger than I expected, and arrived very safely packaged. Watching the new pitchers develop has been amazing. I’m in awe of this plant!
Deroose Alata is an excellent plant for the beginner. It's easy to grow, and you really have to go out of your way to kill it. Pitchers are durable and beautifully pink-red. On larger plants, pitchers can be 6 inches tall. This plant also grows quicker than other types of Nepenthes. You can end up with a long vine in just a few months, which makes this plant one of the most rewarding carnivorous plants to grow. Many garden centers mistakenly label this plant as Nepenthes Alata. However, it is actually a hybrid, Nepenthes alata x ventricosa.
Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for indoor growing.
Pitcher Size: Up to 6 inches.
Sunlight: Bright filtered to partial sun.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Above 70°F during the day; 55°-70°F during the night. Always protect from frost.

tropical pitcher plant: Nepenthes x Deroose Alata
Plant arrived in good time and in good condition, actually bigger than I expected. Two pitchers were about 4" tall, one other was beginning to form, and a few weeks later is about 2" tall. They're being kept on a bay windowsill, in an aquarium tank with some transparent plastic wrapping, which helps keep the humidity over 60%. I give it any house flies I can snag, as well as an occasional meal worm. Good job!!

No complaints whatsoever
Our pitcher plant arrived in great condition, with two pitchers still intact. One died off, but as we learned from the very helpful information included that's normal. It's been healthy and growing quickly -- just a month later it has 2 new and fully grown pitchers and another well underway!

Amazing Plant
It was so much larger than expected. I purchased the plant with a Sarracenia and both came in perfect condition. The size and number of pitchers on the plant was insane for the price. I honestly would recommend this to anyone who wants to give carnivorous plants a go.

The plant arrived packaged very thoroughly and carefully. The plant was very healthy and larger than I expected with numerous pitchers. Since receiving the plant several pitchers have dried up and died. New leaves continue to develop. I keep the soil moist and the plant receives sunlight from the south most of the day.
