One word describes this plant - spectacular! Drosera multifida extrema is a type of fork-leaf sundew, and like its relatives has long, slender, red leaves that branch out multiple times. But on this special plant, it's not unusual to see as many as 36+ points on each leaf!
This particular clone has genetic origins in Evans Head, a coastal colony of D. multifida extrema in New South Wales, Australia. Forks of the leaves, instead of extending laterally as in typical forms, are pointed outwards, away from the plant, forming a sort of cup-shaped web. It grows slower than the common form, remaining more compact and upright for longer before achieving the long, pendulous leaves that the variety is famous for. Give this plant lots of direct sunlight, and we mean lots! You cannot give this sundew too much sun. It loves growing in warm bright windowsills with lots of direct sunlight. Use supplemental lighting if necessary.

If you’ve had drosera multifida before this is one that’ll catch your eyes among others with is basket shaped forking. Forks into 4 when young when matures it begins to form much more than 4!

Sundew
Plant was shipped quickly and was well packed and very healthy upon arrival. Within a day or two of being in light it had started developing dew. I am very pleased.

Well Packed, Quite Thirsty
The plant arrived about a month ago well packaged and looking alright to my neophyte eyes, but seems to just blow through water like nobody's business! I have to replenish its water twice as often as the Drosera graomogolensis I got in the same order. It's also taking some time to adjust, and only bothers to produce dew on the very newest two branches (but has started catching a few gnats recently). Maybe not enough sunlight where it is, but it's the sunniest spot in the house. The new stem is green rather than red, hence why I think it's a sun issue, but I have no idea how a plant with so little surface area is drinking so much water! I'm not terribly experienced, so maybe this is normal, it was just surprising.
