This species has graceful slender red leaves that grow about 3 inches at the most. As a mountainous plant, it grows best in moderate temperatures. Avoid the hot scorching sun and excessive warmth. In cultivation, this plant grows quicker in winter and slows down in summer.

Size: 3 inches across when mature.
Sunlight: Dappled sun. Avoid hot sunlight.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Temperatures: Tolerant of cool temperatures but always protect from frost.
