This eye-catching plant gets up to 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Its uniform shape gives it the appearance of a miniature tree. The only difference, of course, is that this tree sparkles in sunlight! In the wild, this sundew is found in parts of boggy areas that are often flooded with an inch or two of water.  In cultivation, keep the water level fairly high, about 3/4 of the way up the pot. In winter, the leaves will die back, and the plant will form a resting bud sitting at soil level. Growth will resume in mid-spring.

Type of Plant: Outdoor perennial for container growing.
Leaves: 3-4 inches at maturity.
Sunlight: Partial to full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).

    Little Drosera intermedia

Posted by Jack Haggerty on May 12, 2019

Came well packed - like other reputable sellers - and was healthy, then slumped, and now seems to be picking up again. It's not tall, nor was it advertised to be. I'd give 4.5 stars, but give them the benefit of the split.

Was able to transplant them easily. Planted in full sun and they are now bright red. Love these little guys.

    Fragile

Posted by Unknown on June 19, 2018

I have had less luck with this plant. Unfortunately a storm hit a few weeks ago while I was at work and flooded my plant. I have been trying to grow it back but it lost a lot of it's soil so it is not doing so good. To me is a fragile plant. ***RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST*** Sorry to hear about the plant! Yes, storms, hail, and heavy rain can erode the soil of potted plants. These sorts of things also happen to us at our nursery. Make sure to add more soil (peat moss and perlite). You can also top dress the soil with pea gravel to prevent soil erosion.

This drosera isn't doing as well as the filaformis, but it's probably due to the amount of perlite in our bog garden that keeps sticking to its traps. Overall very happy with how well it took to our bog garden!
