This sundew has long thread-like leaves, which gives this plant its common name, dewthread. Long thin leaves slowly rise, standing tall and proud. Small drops of nectar glisten ever so slightly, reflecting the sun's rays and enticing insects to taste its sweet offerings. By the end of summers, the plant is flecked with trophies of its conquests. In winter, the plant will die back and form a resting bud sitting at soil level. Growth will resume in mid-spring.

Plant arrived dormant and has not come out of dormancy.

Two stars because the plant has not yet come out of dormancy. So I really don’t know yet what will come of it. *** RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** Yeah, these plants sure can take their time coming out of dormancy! We don't have any control over that. Patience is a definitely a trait needed when growing some of these outdoor perennials. Make sure to watch our monthly care videos. Only a few of our hardy sundews are waking up right now. Most won't wake up until the end of April.

Plant came very well packaged and healthy and unstressed. It recovered and began producing “dew” within a couple of days. It also tolerates central Texas heat, humidity, and light ver well. It is definitely my most robust drosera.

    Easy

I have followed the directions and kept in a try of rainwater and distilled water. Growing rapidly in full sun. If you live in a dry climate you can grow this easily. Best part of my day is to see what it caught.
