2 of 5 Sarracenia purpurea/flytrap combo December 2, 2019

Sarracenis purpurea is dry like the red base is drying up-is that normal if not what can I do? The flytrap is good!  *** RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** I'm sorry the plant isn't growing as you had expected.  As mentioned in the literature that came with your plants, these plants are dormant in winter, which means no new growth will occur until spring.  It's also natural for Sarracenia to have dried pitchers when they're dormant.  Without knowing more about the care of your plants, we can't really provide much more information other than that.  In your literature, there is also information on how to submit growing questions.  You can access the Carnivorous Plant Help page by using the navigation menu above.  Please make sure to provide the requested information, and one of our growers will get back to you shortly.
