General Description
As a native to the mountaintops of Venezuela, Heliamphora prefers full to partial sunlight and mild daytime temperatures (65° to 80°F). This is one of the few carnivorous plants in which we recommend growing it under strong fluorescent lights with stable conditions rather than in a windowsill. This will help your plant grow those beautiful spoons that ornate their pitchers.

Overall, Heliamphora is a hardy plant, though it grows very slowly, which probably contributes to its mystique. If you're a patient grower, you will certainly enjoy growing a Heliamphora.

Heliamphora heterodoxa x minor
Though Heliamphora is generally regarded as a plant for the experienced grower, this hybrid is the easiest of the bunch. Adult specimens will produce pitchers 4-8 inches tall. The pitchers have a distinct flare with a red margin and reddish hue in the upper interior. Look for flowers in late winter and early spring.
Plants You Receive
Your plant will be shipped potted in a 4-inch pot with a single mature pitcher. All plants were propagated on-site from select mother plants in our collection and are well-established. The last photo is representative of the plants for sale.

Please watch the monthly video podcast for examples of how your plant may look at this time of the year and important growing tips for the season.

5 of 5 Always Great Quality February 14, 2020
Reviewer: Leif Boman from Orlando, FL United States
I received my Heliamphora yesterday and wasn't surprised by the quality of what I was sold. I don't think I can recall a single time I've purchased something from you all that I wasn't happy with after opening the box. I always know that I'll get my money's worth and this time was no exception. The arrived healthy and wrapped perfectly; not a broken or cracked pitcher on the plant (they can be somewhat brittle for those who have never grown them). Thank you always for the work you all put into growing and shipping these plants.

5 of 5 Great Plants as Expected February 5, 2020
Reviewer: Bryce from Englewood, CO United States
As is consistent with Sarracenia Northwest, the plants arrived in great condition within a timely manner.  Despite this plant being labelled as a "slow grower", two new pitchers have already sprouted! The information on the website for plant care has been helpful at ensuring the continued health of my plant.

I literally love my plant. It's beautiful.  It is healthy  and good sized. I'm assuming it is a slow grower. It was packed very well and did not get stressed it's adapted very well to my home.  I will order again.
