This sundew has long thread-like leaves, which gives this plant its common name, dewthread. Long thin leaves slowly rise, standing tall and proud. Small drops of nectar glisten ever so slightly, reflecting the sun's rays and enticing insects to taste its sweet offerings. By the end of summers, the plant is flecked with trophies of its conquests. In winter, the plant will die back and form a resting bud sitting at soil level. Growth will resume in mid-spring.

Leaves: Up to 8 inches at maturity.
Sunlight: Partial to full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

• January-March: Plant is dormant in a resting bud state.

• May: More leaves appear, but not yet full size.
• June-August: Full display of dewy leaves.
• September-October: Dormancy begins. Plant drops its leaves. Growth resumes in spring.
• November-December: Plant is dormant in a resting bud state.
My Drosera filiformis plants arrived in excellent condition and were packed carefully such that that shipping damage was nearly impossible due to the plastic domes covering the actual plants. The sundews were mature specimens and good sized. They are now dormant due to shorter days and cool temperatures per the instructions. Thank you!

I ordered from a handful of popular nurseries, all around the same time with about the same budget. This nursery not only processed and shipped my order the fastest, but also sent some of the biggest and healthiest looking plants. 5/5 Highly recommend.
This bizarre and visually stunning plant doesn't even look like something you would find on planet Earth - at least in this era! When I received my plant, it was immaculately packaged and oozing with dew, along with a trophy crane fly carcass attached to it, which made me laugh. In the last month it has taken over my homemade, six-sided aluminum grow box (with a door) and has already sprouted two rapidly growing flower stems from it's duel growth points. It's development has been aided by two sets of 6000k LED grow lights, plus an extra LED light, which is softer in strength. I live in Zone 6a and am eagerly awaiting June so I can put my plants outside in the sun. One thing I've noticed is that when I received my plant, it had two beautiful triangular shaped crowns at the base. However, over the last month, those two base crowns surrounding the two growth points, have shriveled up and turned brown, even though the plant itself has grown exponentially larger and has secreted copious amounts of dew. The plant is extremely healthy, robust and sprouting new tentacles on a non-stop schedule. It has also caught multiple fruit flies in the past month and keeps growing larger and shinier, creating a neon glow in photographs. But I'm curious about the disappearing base crowns? Are they just a temporary attribute that are only present at the beginning of the grow season? Nonetheless, this plant is amazing and in the near future I will aquire more and build a large pot. Highly recommend!

The plant arrived in perfect condition. It had its dewdrops in merely three days after receiving it. Well grown plants, they adapt beautifully, and be careful because family members will want to take them from you. I need to buy more now.
