I have learned so much from Sarracenia Northwest about Carnivorous plants through their outstanding YouTube channel and their website. It was not surprising to me when I finally ordered from them that the plants would arrive beautifully packaged and unaffected by shipping. Their prices are highly competitive and the quality of the plants is superb. They delivered seriously healthy plants. And to boot... clear concise unpacking instructions as well as care guides

    Trapping insects within a month

Posted by Julie on January 25, 2014

These arrived healthy and covered in dew. I was surprised to see the albino catch a fruit fly within a few weeks of arrival--I expected it would need much more time to acclimate before it eps as ready to feed. The narrow-leaf sundew started catching flies a week after that. The red sundew hasn't been as robust. It wasn't particularly red when it arrived, and due to the lighting I'm providing at the moment (adequate, but not great with natural light limited, and supplemented with fluorescents). Although it hasn't caught any flies like the other two, it is still growing new leaves and looks pretty good. I added a second light, and I hope when we get more natural sun in the spring it will respond accordingly. All told this was an excellent purchase. A very reasonable price for healthy, well-packaged, and well-shipped plants with informative care instructions. I even got some moss at the base if the plants I'm hoping to prop up!
