We acquired a division of this plant from another grower who received it as a seedling. The seedling was labeled as S. leucophylla species and was thought to be free of red pigment. However, when the plant matured, it turned out not to be a leucophylla but a hybrid, possibly with S. flava. It also had red pigment! That was Art’s surprise. The plant is a vigorous grower and divides very well. Pitchers are tall and attractive. The hood is ruffled with faint white spots on a green background. The interior shows red veins.

ABOUT MATURE DIVISIONS
After we divide our mother plants, we allow the rhizomes to mature for at least one full growing season, sometimes two, before including them in our inventory. You get a much more vigorous and robust plant than one that has been recently divided.
