Bred in England in 1985, this plant quickly became a coveted classic. It has been widely regarded as one of the finest Sarracenia ever created for its uniform shape, moderate height, colorful pitchers, and steady growth throughout the growing season. The traps are stunning. Young leaves are green streaked with red and heavily speckled with white around the top. The pitchers quickly convert to the deepest berry-red, leaving the top of the ruffled lid dotted with pink and white while the rest of the trap assumes darker complexions. Leaves are of medium height and growth is compact and uniform. Older plants are somewhat more robust, but are otherwise identical to younger ones. Its ease of growth and reliable nature makes Judith Hindle a prize in any collection.

Sunlight: Full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

Plants are grown outdoors at our nursery in Oregon and experience seasonal changes.
• January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
• April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
• May: Fully developed pitchers will start to appear.
• June: Full display of pitchers. This plant will look its best!
• July-August: Plant will slow down when it’s hot. Some minor spotting.
• September-October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
• November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.
I received my plant in Sarracenia Northwest's traditional packaging. Always 5 stars for their concern towards customers' purchases. And very obviously towards the plant itself. The pitchers have a medium green base. Some pitchers have white lids with red veining and other pitchers have slightly pink lids with red veining. For sure a nice splash of color to add to your greenery and of course a strong plant.

First time having carnivorous plants. All the plants were very well packaged, good condition and all the plants have survived and are thriving. Im in Miami so the sun is good and weather works perfectly. My recommendation is go for the bigger plant sizes as they offer more robust growth, speeds up the process of growing. Great new addition to my garden and will be adding many more as I build out my pond. Thank you SNWEST!!!
The spring pitchers were a little weird very S shaped ; plant is putting on a new pitcher cant complain. *** RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** Yes, that can sometimes happen with new growth when the weather fluctuates wildly in spring, hot one day and cold the next. Some of the mid and late season plants are susceptible to it. When the weather stabilizes, pitchers develop normally. Feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions.
Judith Hindle arrived healthy and exceptionally packaged
I got this plant about a month ago and planted it. The weather turned bad and I was worried but recently it has been growing and is now double it’s size! I was able to keep it in its moist packaging in the beginning until the weather warmed up as it was packaged very well.
The plant arrived quickly, without any damage, and with a few small pitchers from the beginning of the growing season. I put it outside in a sunny spot and kept the soil moist and within a week or two the first large pitcher came up. A couple weeks later, it has a second pitcher with a third on the way. They look beautiful and are very healthy. Definitely would recommend.
