While this plant can get to impressive size, leaves growing 12-16 inches that will wrap around captured insects, it can be a bit of an enigma for some growers. The secret is growing it like a mountainous species - lots of sun but mild temperatures. A nighttime drop below 65°F is essential for optimal growth. Best for the experienced grower.

    Love it!

Posted by Clayton Kroh on January 9, 2021

This was a bit more expensive than the other carnivorous plants I've purchased, and I wasn't sure if I'd be happy. My worry was that it would be sensitive and end up dying on me. Well, it hasn't, and is actually growing very nicely! I have it in a cool area with cooler growing orchids, but with bright light. It is thriving so far! Very happy!

My regia arrived in excellent condition and it is striving and catching a lot of gnats and flies. Nice young plant at a very good price.

    Arrived healthy

I was a bit apprehensive ordering this plant because some have said it’s a tough plant to cultivate. It arrived healthy on 2/7/19 and it is now growing healthy and full of dew almost one month later. It’s kept in room where temps drop at night , not waterlogged and in bright light. I’m glad I made the decision to get it.

    Awesome Plant and Delivery!

Posted by Gregory Fellows on May 9, 2017

Waited a little bit to see how the Drosera regia would do after unpackaging and its doing great! I put it outside during the day and keep it in at night to prevent frost from killing the small plant since it dosen't have hibernacula yet. Customer Service was excellent, letting me know that heavy snow conditions prevented them from shipping and would ship when conditions improved, which was perfectly acceptable. Overall I am very pleased with everything Sarracenia Northwest has to offer and will definitely be a returning customer! Update: Poor regia came under attack from aphids. I have used take-down to dispose of the pests. And it worked! Plant has some badly damaged leaves but appears to still be springing out new, healthy leaves!

    Drosera regia

Plant arrived in good shape and the heat pack was still warm. There is also another very small one growing about 1/2" from the main one. Both are doing fine under fluorescent lights..
