Looked small but grows so fast

Posted by Jolie Soukup on May 17, 2020

When it arrived, it was 1 small stem coming from the crown which was obviously cut back. In one month, it sprouted 7 more stems and grew several inches. The initial stem is now a pitcher and I couldn't be more thrilled!

    Ladies in Waiting

Disappointingly small plant. I think it will be quite some time before I get real pitchers of size. I would not have purchased this plant had I known how small it would be. (Perhaps it was listed as small on the website and I missed it) ***RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** Thank you for your recent purchase and comment. I'm sorry the plant was smaller than you had expected. The plant is a recent division from select mother plants, so plants are generally smaller during their first season. This info is stated in the description. The plant is considered a late season plant, which means it will show off it's best pitchers in late season. We are still in early summer, so a bit of patience is required to see the full potential of this plant. Size is also relative. This plant generally produces smaller rhizomes than other plants. It's similar to comparing a Chihuahua to a St. Bernard. It's pitchers never get large as other hybrids. In any case, your plant will look relatively larger as it we progress into summer and fall.
