Nepenthes x wrigleyana is one of the Victorian hybrids that has been replicated by many growers over the years. The actual parentage is Nepenthes mirabilis x (rafflesiana x ampullaria). We acquired our clone from Sam Estes of Leilani Hapu'u Nursery in Hawaii. The pitchers are very colorful - reddish hues with dark red mottling. The wings on front of the pitcher are from Nepenthes rafflesiana. The thick peristome is from Nepenthes amullaria. Despite its lowland parents, this plant grows amazingly well in our highland greenhouse. It vines readily throughout the year, though it produces pitchers only during the summer when it's warm and bright. Otherwise, it would make a fantastic houseplant.
